Faceless Technologies CMYK

Pantone colors are premixed spot colors. CYMK is a process printing system that uses a mixture of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black to produce color.

While CMYK is a much less expensive way to produce full color jobs, about 50% of Pantone colors are not fully achievable in CMYK (see below). This can cause issues or dissatisfaction for your customer if they are expecting a certain PMS color match.

Here are some examples of what certain Pantone colors look like on screen (or in a Pantone Book) and what the CMYK print will look like:

Pantone CMYK

Here are some suggestions for our color printing services. If you are sending a job for full color to Faceless Technologies, please convert all Pantone colors to 4 color process before submitting your order. Also, we suggest checking the PMS color’s achievability in CMYK and alerting your customer about what to expect with the conversion.

Please note that Faceless Technologies has 4 color process and 1-2 color spot capabilities and 1-2 PMS Color options on certain products such as Brochures / Sales Sheets, Business Cards, Envelopes, Letterhead, NCR Forms, Notepads, & Small Flyers. If you are unsure of which process will work best for your job, please contact customer service for assistance.

While the addition of a border may be a nice design aesthetic or an easy way to add bleed to a customer supplied file, it can be detrimental to the end result of your print job. Faceless Technologies highly recommends removing all borders before sending files to print.

Due to the speed of our cutters and our sheet lay-out, borders can make even the straightest cuts look crooked. Although Faceless Technologies often trims borders to perfection, the issue can be avoided 100% of the time if borders are removed completely before submitting artwork.

Any original media (discs, pictures, slides, proofs, etc.) are non-returnable and become our property unless pre-arrangements are made.

While the addition of a border may be a nice design aesthetic or an easy way to add bleed to a customer supplied file, it can be detrimental to the end result of your print job.

Faceless Technologies highly recommends removing all borders before sending files to print.

This is why:

bleeds

Due to the speed of our cutters and our sheet lay-out, borders can make even the straightest cuts look crooked. Although Faceless Technologies often trims borders to perfection, the issue can be avoided 100% of the time if borders are removed completely before submitting artwork.

Adding Bleed to a file:

To ensure proper printing, please make sure the correct bleed is set-up on the design file. If you send Faceless Technologies a business card file at 3.5×2 you will need to extend it to 3.75×2.25 to give us the requested amount of bleed. This file can easily be enlarged to 3.75×2.25 but simply enlarging the image could cause an undesired final product.

bleeds

Enlarging the file can move text and important images out of the text safe area and past the final cut line.

Faceless Technologies recommends enlarging the background only and leaving important text and images within the text safe area and final cut line.

See below for Faceless Technologies recommended text safe area. Please feel free to contact us if you ever need any design templates for our color printing services.

[/inwave_tab_item][inwave_tab_item title=”What is a tag on my printing? ” sub_title=””]

See Image sample below as to what a tag looks like

A tag is a line of type which we discreetly add to your final artwork on the edge of the printed piece. It reads in 5 point type, our store name and phone number. Tagging your orders is one of the reasons we have been able to maintain such incredibly low prices. You can add an additional $15 to remove the tag.

[/inwave_tab_item][inwave_tab_item title=”Will the colors on the printing be accurate? ” sub_title=””]

Please note that although color proofs supplied to the customer are highly calibrated and very accurate, they cannot match the final printed product 100%. This is due to the fact that proofs are created in a different way than the printed piece (ink, paper stock, registration, line screens, etc.) Also note that the customer proof may not closely match our proofs or the printed piece either for the same reasons and because the customer supplied proofs are not calibrated to our presses. Every file should be sent in CMYK. Any files submitted in RGB may experience unacceptable color shifting. Files that are submitted in RGB are automatically converted to CMYK. Colors may shift or change slightly due to our efficient process of client runs. Every product except banners are done using a gang run procedure on offset presses including jobs of 200 and 500 quantities. This is possible due to our highly efficient workflow and job volume. Banner jobs are not the same as offset. We are not responsible for color shift or color variences that occur.
