It’s not easy to choose a hosting plan, especially if you are not well-versed in web development. However, choosing the right hosting plan is crucial for any business or individual who is looking to establish a strong online presence. There are so many hosting providers on the market right now with the top ones being GoDaddy, HostGator, and Bluehost. Each one differs in offerings with their plans. However, they have one thing in common: they are all overpriced. In this article, we will detail how Faceless Marketing has hosting plans similar to GoDaddy and other top companies except at a better deal.

Why is Web Hosting So Expensive? Are There Affordable Options?

Is web hosting and added cost? Yes. You should view website hosting as an investment of your business’s online presence and success. The price of web hosting is contingent upon a few factors. While the price may seem initially expensive, that is because there are features that ensure optimal website performance and security or options like extra storage. Yet, this doesn’t mean that there aren’t companies that are ripping off their customers. Major hosting companies like GoDaddy, HostGator and BlueHost are among the pricier options.

Faceless Marketing Hosting Plans Similar To Godaddy, Hostgator And Bluehost

With a typical hosting package, you can expect there to be the standard features – hosting, customized email and email box, ease of use and customer service. However, you don’t have to pay premium prices for a basic hosting package.

GoDaddy

GoDaddy is one of the largest hosting companies and is known for their humorous Superbowl ads. However, they have some of the most overpriced and expensive hosting packages. GoDaddy advertises hosting plans for “as low as $6.99 a month. However, once you click on the See Plans button,  it reveals more expensive packages with outrageous prices.

For starters, the Web Hosting Economy package renews at $83.88 a month (for the 12-month contract) for 1 website. There is a $11.99 monthly plan but this package doesn’t come with anything except the most bare bones of a hosting plan. It doesn’t include anything else you might need such as storage, email, SSL certificate and domain.

However, if you have more than 1 website you would need to upgrade to the Web Hosting Deluxe package. This package is $407.52 a month (for a 12-month contract). If you have multiple websites, storage is shared with each website.

GoDaddy prices are also known to increase significantly when renewing. Additionally, with how the checkout process is setup, there is aggressive upselling with vague terms and conditions. GoDaddy boasts that they have “no hidden fees” but their pricing structure says otherwise.

HostGator

As another well-known hosting provider, Hostgator has been around for awhile. They offer a variety of hosting solutions. These are often from shared servers. They are known for being “budget friendly” but even at the “starting price”, hosting packages jump considerably. Similar to GoDaddy, HostGator also has high renewal costs as well as aggressive upselling on additional services.

Their Hatchling Plan starts off at $3.75 a month and includes 10 websites, unmetered bandwidth, basic email and a free domain for the first year. However, if you go through the checkout process, the stipulation is that the $3.75 a month is actually for the 36 months plan, which means you are locked into that plan for 3 years. The amount total at the end is $135 and renews in 3 years. It’s not bad for being the cheapest plan. But the caveat is that you are locked in for 3 years.

There is a monthly contract plan that starts at $17.95 a month. However, this does not even come with a free domain.

Bluehost

As another hosting giant, Bluehost is endorsed by WordPress. However, that does not mean that it is the best quality for the price. Similar to GoDaddy and HostGator, Bluehost has higher renewal rates and upsells additional services. They advertise at $2.75 a month for the basic hosting package. However, just like the other companies, this initial price is misleading.

It ends up being $35.40 for the yearly contract. It does include a professional email, which is only free for 3 months. After that, it is $7.47 a month. The basic plan includes a free domain only for the first year. There is a monthly hosting plan, which comes out to $15.99 a month. However, this is the most bones option with no extra add-ons.

Faceless Marketing Website Hosting

Faceless Marketing offers high-quality hosting plans for a good value. If you’re looking for an affordable, easy solution for a small business, look no further. Our web hosting package starts at $19.99 a month or $200 annually (no hidden fees!) and includes a domain, SSL, company and personal emails as well as email storage.

What makes Faceless Marketing hosting different from GoDaddy? GoDaddy has started limiting traffic to websites under their hosting contract. On the other hand, we would never do this to our hosting customers.

The Bottom Line

Many hosting companies will sell packages to you in a way that makes prospective customers believe they are getting a deal. However, it’s not worth it to purchase a package that is overpriced, and the actual value of hosting packages from GoDaddy or HostGator are nowhere near the amount they are charging. At the end of the day, finding the right hosting plan will depend on your budget and website requirements.
